The Cacao Museum is both a museum and an educational park dedicated to cacao and chocolate, located between Cahuita and Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, in the province of Limón, Costa Rica. It offers a cultural, natural, and historical experience, allowing visitors to discover the history of Caribbean cacao and its close connection to local biodiversity.

Chocolate tour

Discover the world of cacao and chocolate by visiting a century-old cacao plantation and a working plantation, where you’ll learn how cacao is grown in harmony with nature and taste the fresh fruit.
The tour continues at the Afro-Caribbean museum to explore the history of cacao, old processing machines, and the full transformation process from bean to chocolate. Guests taste cacao at different stages and finish with a chocolate tasting.
The experience also includes tropical flower gardens, medicinal plants, the U SULE Indigenous Museum, and sightings of local wildlife such as sloths, monkeys, and lizards.

The magnificent natural setting of Cacao Trail Bole offers a wide range of activities, from walking among unique tropical botanical collections to birdwatching, all while enjoying an interactive connection with the local cacao culture.
The Cacao Trail Bole farm, covering more than 12 acres, enjoys a strategic location between Cahuita and Puerto Viejo, close to Cahuita National Park and its pristine beaches, with easy access from the main road.
